As the painful year that was 2020 draws to a close, I decided to treat myself to a new macro lens. Specifically the Olympus 60mm macro lens. Naturally, the only thing to do is go around the house and find things to photograph in macro. I had a pile of coins lying around so I thought I would photograph them first. I was very impressed by the quality of the lens and how sharp the coins were. It’s slightly poetic that on the day Britain formally cuts ties with the European Union, I photograph a Euro on a background of pennies in macro detail.
